BWTHYN HIR IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR RELAXATION AMIDST THE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY OF A RURAL SETTING, JUST 500 YARDS FROM THE COAST – PERFECT FOR COUPLES OR FAMILIES ALIKE.
One of two cottages here at Porthiddy Farm, Bwthyn Hir (awarded 5* from Visit Wales) is just 500 yards from Abereiddy Beach – an easy 10 minute walk away. The unspoilt Pembrokeshire coastline awaits you!
Those looking for peace and quiet will relish the rural locale at this long, spacious, single-storeyed Welsh cottage.
Upon your arrival at the cottages, one of the first things the owners recommend to do is make your way down to the beach on foot, across the neighbouring fields at Porthiddy Farm West, through the rough common in the valley and stop and take in the views of the bay.
This short walk will take you past old cottages built for fishermen and workers at the old slate quarry (now the “Blue Lagoon”) and is instantly uplifting, particularly if you’ve had far to come. It is a fantastic spot to catch a spectacular sunset as you look out west from the beach.
Located all on one level, the front door leads into a most attractive, comfortable open-plan living area. Fully of character, this is a charming room with a three-seater sofa and 2 armchairs, TV/DVD, dining table to seat 4, and feature kitchen area that is well equipped with electric hob and oven with extractor hood, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge and freezer. The large bathroom has a full suite with corner shower, hand basin, WC and bath. The pretty double bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and door leading to outside terrace garden area. The twin room has 2 single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers with pleasant views from the bedroom across the farmyard garden at Porthiddy Farmhouse.
The back door (accessed through the double bedroom) overlooks the farmyard garden and there is a private patio terrace area with outdoor table and chairs for you to enjoy breakfast alfresco. Walk through the gate into the Farmyard Garden and you will find a shared enclosed grassed area with stunning views towards Strumble Head – a ideal spot to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area.
There is a small-shared storage shed for storing your bikes, surfboards, etc.
Alongside the cottage for one car.
